Queen's Gambit hold and cherish the traditions of Irish and Scottish traditional music. With violin, viola, tinwhistle, guitar and bodhran we dedicate many hours to our musical ensemble development out of respect for the music itself, playing everything from sprightly Irish session tunes to soft Scottish ballads and original works. We participate each year as a band in O'Flaherty's Irish Music Retreat in Texas, and have performed at the Tipperary Inn Irish Pub in Dallas, O'Malley's in Weston, and Union Station in Kansas City for St. Patrick's Day, as well as a Concert in the Park in Parsons, Kansas. We perform at a lot of Renaissance festivals (about 20 weekends a year), which gives us an abundance of performance time, and exposes many people to traditional Celtic music, played in the traditional fashion, which is the hallmark of our band. We've released 5 CDs in the past 6 years, and have been reviewed in Celtic MP3 Magazine and various websites. A 6th CD will be released this Spring of 2009.
